Ohhhh....!!!!!!!!!!!
Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart.
She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger.
She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare 'em for being scattered abroad upon the face of the Earth.
The simplicity of winter has a deep moral.
The return of Nature, after such a career of splendor and prodigality, to habits so simple and austere, is not lost either upon the head or the heart.
It is the philosopher coming back from the banquet and the wine to a cup of water and a crust of bread .....

Happiness
For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life.
But there is always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first,
some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid.
At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.
This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness.
Happiness is the way.
So treasure every moment you have and remember that time waits for no one.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.....

Choose joy not Misery
The problem with all of us is that we know how to be joyful but don't know how to sustain it. In other words, when outside situations become conducive, you tend to become a little joyful. But when they don't work out you get upset.
Outside situations will happen the way you think they should happen only if the scope and play of your life is very limited.
Let's say your whole life is limited to a room- ninety percent of the things happen the way you want it, but ten percent may be out of the control. And if the scope and play of your life becomes very big, let us say it spreads across the world, then only ten percent happens the way you want and ninety percent is always out of control. So, if you become miserable whenever things on the outside do not happen the way you think they should happen, you will naturally curtail the scope of your life because it causes suffering to you.
The outside will never happen 100 percent the way you want it. Especially because it does not happen the way you want it, at least the inside should happen the way you want it.
If your body , mind, emotion and energy take instructions from you, you will keep yourself very joyful and blissful. Nobody would have to teach you. "Please choose joy not misery". You will not need a scripture like that. But right now you don't know how to exercise your choice because even the basic faculties of body and mind are not taking instructions from you.
And it is a matter of great concern. We are a spoiled lot; just to do simple things, we freak out. See what most of us are doing as a routine in our lives ? Just earning a living, and to do this look at the kind of circus we get ourselves involved into: live to eat, reproduce and die one day. What a life, what a shame...!!!!!!!

The Wings Of Talent
"When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I wouldn't have a single bit of my talent left and I could say, I used every bit you gave me"
Most of us enter this world with a healthy body, mind and some kind of inborn talent. But how many of 'em use their talent fully? But what about the people who are not so fortunate and enter this world with some kind of physical or mental handicap or the persons who become handicapped as a result of some disease or accident?
There are several examples of brave people like Helen Keller, Beethoven, Christy Brown, Sudha Chandran and Satish Gujral who never let their handicaps disable 'em. They worked persistently with determination and will power to bring out the best of their talent.
Recently I came to know about an organisation of mouth and foot artists, and I was amazed to see the work of these physically challenged artists. They had either lost their upper limbs as a result of an accident or disease or had non functional upper limbs by birth. Unlike many of their kind they chose to be brave and innovative. Circumstances had snatched their limbs from 'em but not their talent and their will-power to keep their talents alive.
Some of the artists were 'mouth painters, others 'foot painters'.
Done with their mouth or foot, their paintings were comparable to the paintings of any good artist with gifted artistic hands. These artists from various parts of the country worked with perseverance, skill, great will-power, and determination.
That proves nothing can take the place of persistence and determination. These are the invisible wings of talent which take one to unpredictable heights. People having these qualities can happily and proudly say before God at the end of their lives.
